POLES SURPRISE LETTS.

FRONTIER CLASH

WARSAW, Jan. 14.

Polish and Lithuanian frontier guards engaged in a skirmish near Kozaczyna. It is reported that the Poles surprised Lithuanians who wore destroying Polish boundary posts. The guard fired a warning in tho air, whereupon the Lithuanians fired a volleyThe Lithuanians retired after a brisk exchange, carrying a dying comrade. The Times’s correspondent at Riga states that the question of PolishLithuanian negotiations is again causing uneasiness. Lithuanian semi-official newspapers are alleging that Poland is still supporting the conspiracies of Lithuanian exiles. They demand that Poland should guarantee that Lithuania will not bo attacked, that Poland will withdraw her troops from the demarcation lines, and removo Lithuanian exiles from Viina. They also demand the restoration of Viina and compensation for losses resulting from the occupation of that city. Tho Soviet is spreading inflammatory anti-Polish reports, notably of tho continuance of military preparations.
