WORKLESS IN NEW-SOUTH WALES
UNRESTRICTED IMMIGRATION
HUNDREDS ARRIVE EVERY WEEK
(By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received January 21, 10.25 a.m. SYDNEY, Jan. 21. Mr J. Garden, sem’etary of the Trades and Labour Council, states that there are 20,000 unskilled workers unemployed throughout New South Wales. Mr Garden states that more unemployment exists now than at any other period since the beginning of the century. One of the factors responsible for the present state of affairs, Mr Garden adds, is the unrestricted immigration policy of the Federal Government. Each week hundreds of migrants arrive from overseas.—Pres Association.
