SALE OF LIQUOR.
Per Press Association. ASHBURTON, Jan. 20. Twice previously adjourned because of the non-appearance of accused, the case against William Higgins of having gold half a bottle of whisky in a no license district was proceeded with this morning. When the case was first called on November 22, the Magistrate, Mr OrrWalker, issued a warrant for the arrest, because of non-appearance, of Higgins. To-day a fine of £25 was imposed in default two months’ imprisonment, with costs and expenses totalling £4 13s.
