GIRL WITH A KNIFE.
FINED FOR ASSAULT. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 29. Gladys Victoria Carpenter was fined £2 to-day for assaulting John Sneddon. The police said that the girl admitted that she had been out to get revenge. The pair had been keeping company, but evidently they had parted. While at a dance the girl rushed at Sneddon with a table knife. Had she riot been stopped there was no doubt that she' would have injured him. Counsel for the girl said that she had been treated very badly.
