FARMER’S DEATH.
SUICIDE AT PARKVALE. SHOT WITH PEA RIFLE. Per Press Association. CARTERTON, Nov. 29. Edwin James, aged 76, a well-known former of Parkvale. committed suicide last night, shooting himself in the head with a pea rifle. Death was instantaneous. Deceased was having tea when, through the electric supply failing, the whole-family had to assist in completing the milking. The younger daughter, on returning to the house about eight o’clock, found her father sitting in an arm chair, in. the front room With a pea rifle between his knees, being then quite dead. He leaves a widow and a family of nine, mostly grown-up. An inquest will be held.
