POOR LAW RELIEF.
ENGLAND AND WALES. LONDON, Nov. 28. In the House of Commons Sir H. Kingsley Wood, Under-Secretary for Health, in answer to a question, said that the recipients of poon law relief in England and Wales per thousand of population in 1924 were 27.33; in 1925, 32.9; in 1926, 57.4; and in 1927, 29.8. —Australian Press Association and Sun cable.
