REDUCING SALARIES.
MR DE VALERA’S PLATFORM. LONDON, Aug. 23. The Republican leader, Mr De Valera, at a by.-election meeting today, says the Dublin correspondent of The Times, outlined the Fianna Fail’s policy. It embraced, he said, a reduction of official salaries exceeding £IOOO a year, including those of Ministers, who should not have difficulty in supporting their families on £2O a week. Mr De Valera promised to honour the Free State national loan, and the Sinn Fein loan raised in America, and said that the British financial-settle-ment of 1925 must ho reopened. He promised work for everybody.
