MANAWATU ASSOCIATION. A - special meeting of the management committee of the Manawatu Football Association was held last evening, Mr J. C. Young presiding. There were also present: Messrs W. F. Durward, T. It. Lees and D. Smillie (secretary). » The object of the meeting was toconsider matters in connection with the now defunct Hangers Club. A senior eleven, representative of that body, entered the association’s senior league competition at its commencement, but at the conclusion of the second round (after participating in 10 fixtures) tho team defaulted twice in succession, allowing a rule to come into* force whereby the team was deemed to have withdrawn from the championship. Following this automatic cancellation of the team’s right to take part in the competition, several senior members entered the junior division, whilst others played for another senior club. Subsequently, three of the footballers were suspended for the former breach and at the same time the association deducted four championship points from tho Rangers junior side, the honours being awarded to the opposing elevens. Further complications arose when the management committee learnt of the breach committed by players assisting the Foxton Club without a transfer, which is necessary under the constitution, and as a result two competition matches were ordered to be replayed at the conclusion of the present round. In the absence of the secretary of the Rangers’ Club a statement from the club’s Ixioks was read showing that financial difficulties had been experienced, four members being unfinancial, while the club itself was in arrears to the association.

It was resolved to grant transfers in the following cases, the players’ forms being in proper order : J. Crowe to R.S.A., T. H. Crowe and A. Crowe to Foxton. Another member of the defunct senior club, now playing in the junior division, is to be disqualified until his arrears are paid in full. Other applications for transfer will be dealt with when they are made by the individual members.
