HAND OF THE SOVIET.
ESPIONAGE ALLEGED. ARRESTS IN GERMANY. BERLIN, Aug. 12. Forty arrests have been effected in Lemberg of persons allegedly connected with an espionage organisation working on behalf of the Soviet. Those arrested include several soldiers. —A. and N.Z. cable. DEATH SENTENCES. TWO RUSSIIF GENERALS. LONDON, Aug. 12. The Times’s Riga correspondent says that the Supreme Soviet tribunal imposed death sentences on Generals Annenkoff and Deni6off who voluntarily returned to Russia last year. General Annenkoff and 100 Cossacks who dofied the Reds in the early stages of the revolution fought their way from Siberia to Czeclio-Slovakia, aiding General Kolschek until the White Russians collapsed, and then went to China. —Times.
