COLLIE CLUB. (Special to “Standard.”) FEILDING, May 3. A meeting of the committee of the Feilding and district Collie Club w T as held on Friday, the president, Mr R. Shortall, being in the chair. Also present were Messrs W. M. Stewart, A. Goldfinch, A. Burgess, J. Stewart, R. Taylor, P. M. Harrison, F. King, N. J. Short, F. Osborne and the hon. secretary (Mr D. C. Cullinano). An apology for absence was received from Mr H. W. Shepherd. The trials will be held this month and Mr D. Reid’s property on the Halcombe Road will he the venue. A subcommittee, consisting of Messrs E. E. Short, N. J. Short and P. M. Harrison was set up to make arrangements regarding the securing of sheep. Messrs W. Stewart, N. J. Short and A. Goldfinch were deputed to approach the Feilding A. and P. Association requesting the loan of a number of hurdles. Mr F. England, of Hunterville, was elected a member of the committee. The following officials and stewards were elected for the trials:-—Judge, Mr H. Lambert (Tarata) ; liberating stewards, Messrs Burgess, King, Goldfinch and W. Stewart; ground marshal, Mr N. J. Short; flag steward, Mr W. M. Stewart; dog steward. Mr R. Taylor; yard steward, Mr A. Burgess; release steward, Mr B. McLeod; mounted steward, Mr E. E. Short; timekeeper, Mr J. W. Stewart; judge’s clerk, Mr E. Bur.rell. It was decided to give a smoke concert in honour of the visitors on the second night of the trials and a committee was set up to make the necessary arrangements. A total of £66 prize money was allocated to the various events and the cups and trophies also to be presented aggregate £IOO in value. GOLF NOTES. The annual match between the Feilding and Dannevirkc Golf Clubs will take place in Dannevirko on the Bth inst. Players able to make the journey are asked to notify the secretary at once. PERSONAL. Miss V. McKenzie has resumed teaching at the local High School after several months’ absence on sick leave. Mr C. Pearse, a member of the Feilding Old Boys’ senior fifteen, who received a kick on the arm during the course of a friendly match with a Kiwitea team recently, was obliged to enter the Palmerston North Hospital to undergo an operation to the arm. Although the condition of the limb is still serious, it is considered that there is every hope of saving it. Members of tho Rangitikei Club assembled on Saturday evening to farewell Mr F. E. Robertson, who has been a member of the club for the past 17 years and who is leaving Feilding shortly to reside in Auckland. The president, Mr H. B. Burrell, on behalf of the members, presented the guest with a well filled wallet, suitably inscribed, and wished Mr Robertson every happiness in his new home. Other members added their tributes and Mr Robertson briefly replied.
