BOXING.

SCOTT AWARDED FIGHT. LONDON, April 21. Phil Scott, the English heavy-weight champion, met Julius Okun (American) for a purse of £3500 and the European heavy-weight championship. It was a poor fight. The crowd expressed its disapproval at the slow fighting with prolonged booing and cat-calls against both men. A brisk rally in the sixth round ended in Scott reeling on the ropes from a blow to the stomach. He collapsed in agony, and was awarded the fight.—A. and N.Z. cable.
