NAME OF ACCUSED.
SUPPRESSION REFUSED. CHRISTCHURCH, April 22. Charges of theft involving, it is stated, about £SOO, will bo heard against Walter John Clark Aitchison in the Magistrate’s Court on remand from Dunedin, charged with stealing £27 from the Todd Motor Company on January 17. Chief-Detective Levis asked for a remand for a week. Tlie man was arrested in Dunedin and the chief-detec-tive had been instructed that the amount involved was fairly large. Mr W. F. Tracy, who appeared for accused, asked for bail. He remarked also that the Magistrate in Dunedin had ordered the suppression of accused’s name until tlie facts of the case came out. He asked that that order be renewed. The Magistrate: If the man is innocent it is all the better that the facts and his name should come out. The request for an orler was refused and bail was allowed ir £2OO and one surety of £2OO.
