TO MORROW’S FIXTURES. „

The soccer football season commences tomorrow in the senior and junior divisions. The following is the draw for the league championship: R.S.A. v. Foxton, at Foxton (Mr Crouch); Athletic v. Rangers, at North Street Park (Mr Forbes);' St Andrew’s v. Flock House, at the hostel (Mr Chapman). Junior.—St Andrew’s v. Flock House (Mr Cooper); Rangers v. R.S.A. (Mr Newpian). Primary friendly matches ’ havs been arranged as followß at North Street Paru on Saturday, kick-off at 1 p.m.College Street v. Central Scouts, referee Mr Newman; West End v. Terrace End, referee Mr Childs; Central v. Hokowhitu, referee Mr Crowe. The R.S.A. team to travel to Foxton on Saturday is : West (captain), Jones or Goodjolin, H. Kempson, Truman, Tucker, Loveioy, Morgan, Travers, Baigent. Brookfield and Contaur. The team will meet at the Soldiers’ Club at 1.15 p.m, sharp. R.S.A. B. team v. Rangers B: Graham, J. Gardner, Goodjohn or E. Kempson, Puller, *S. Gardner (captain), E. Kempson, Alsop, Beveridge, Saul, Carnell, Anderson, Trow, Godson, Isles. The team will meet at the corner of Featheraton and Rangitikei Streets at 2.30 p.m. sharp. Athletic team/ to play Rangers will be chosen from P. Childs, Askam, Travers, Dewar, Beer, Hearsay, McLe<jd, Rainford, Whitehouse (captain), Bransdojrn, Aird, Salmon, Harriman, H. Childs. Rangers v. MEETING OF REFEREES.

Mr J, Bi Cooper presided last even= ing over the first meeting of the Manawatu Soccer Referees’ Association, this season. There was a fair attendance and at the outset the chairman stressed the urgency of procuring additional referees, the game was progressing rapidly in the district and more controlling officials would be pssential in a very short time, J.t was Btatcd that an application to the secretary would allow of the applicants being examined for the necessary badge or authority to control games locally. The election of offleors for the ensuing season resulted: President, Mr J. B. Cooper; vice-president, Mr E. Kempson; secretary (pro tem), Mr H. Crouch.

It was resolved to write to the New Zealand Referees’ Association in regard to affiliation with the parent body, and making application for copies of the rules for this season. A letter is to be sent to the Manawatu Football Association drawing attention to the present state of the goal posts at the Park and requesting that some provision be made for new supports. The granting of qualification badges by the New Zealand Referees’ Association to Messrs Crouch, Davidson, Forbes and Johnson was approved. It was decided to recommend that the opposing clubs in the various league games each supply a capable linesman for the day of their match.

Messrs Crouch and Forbes were appointed examiners for referee badges. The association decided to meet every alternate Thursday evening, following the management committee meeting of the local parent body.
