LITIGATION RESULTS.
LONDON, March 15. Mr Justice Russell, in the Chancery Division, has commenced the hearing of actions by James Caird and the Scottish Shire Line against the New Zealand Shipping Company and the Federal Steam Navigation Company; also of James Caird against the Federal Line and the Union Steam Ship Company of New Zealand.
The actions arose in connection with the affairs of the “pool,” under which the ships controlled by the plaintiffs and the defendants were engaged. The plaintiff asks for a declaration that the denfendants were trustees for him in one-third of the assets comprised in the agreement of sale dated April 15,1912, by Houlder Brothers, Ltd., to the New Zealand Shipping Company of their interest in the Australian trade, and that the defendants are accountable to plaintiff for onethird of the profits realised by any such sale of such assets.—A. and N.Z. cable.
