RIFLE SHOOTING.
GATHERING AT TRENTHAM. Per Press Association. TRENTHAM, March 17. The annual meeting of the National Rifle Association commenced this morning. The rapid shooting, ten rounds at 300 yards in 35 seconds, was won by P. J. Pring (Auckland) with a score of 45 out of a possible 50, taking £5. The runner-up was F. J. Jeune (Gisborne) 40 and J. H. Frazer (Kaitangata) 40, £2 10s each. . F. J. Soler (Wanganui) was next with. 39. Scores down to 32 came into the prize list. In the snap shooting, 10 rounds at 300 yards, G. Cornellius (H.M.S. Renown) made 86 out of 100, taking £4, D. Kei>- (Ashburton) 80, taking £3, C. M. Moss (Kiwi, Dunedin) 77, taking £3.
