BILLIARD ACTIVITIES
In order to further the social activities of the It.S.A. Chib, each year various billiard tournaments are arranged for the entertainment of members, and, possessing as it does a wealth of trophies, the organisers have the means wherewith to create a vast amount of interest. For some weeks past handicap contests have, been in progress for the McHardy cups which were presented by Mr P. A. McHardy, who has ever proved a valued friend to the local association, and 30 members have been engaged on the green cloth in determining their right to possession of the handsome trophies. In the section devoted to billiards, Mr W. Larkins, who was the successful competitor last y.ear, again emerged with the honours, defeating Mr A. W. Chapman in the final. In the snooker section Mr K. Eglington proved successful by defeating Mr E. F. Trigg in the final, both competitions having furnished many interesting contests. Each of the winners will be presented with a miniature cup which they will retain for all time, the McHardy cups being both challenge trophies. >
