ACCIDENT TO PORTER.

Per Press Association. OHAKUNE, Feb. 3

Tho porter, M. G. F. Bedell, who was injured yesterday at Ohakune junction, was taken to tho Taihape Hospital and operated on by Dr Carrick Robertson. His injuries comprised a triple fracture of the skull and a broken arm. It is surmised that tlie accident happened through Bedell standing too close to the edge of the platform when the north bound express entered the station. His lamp struck the engine, tho concussion throwing him against the train. Tho south bound express with a party of doctors going to the Dunedin conference crossing at Ohakune enabled the injured man to be hurried to hospital.
