STILL MISSING.
WEALTHY YOUTH GONE. MOTHER SEARCHING. SYDNEY, Dec. 23. Though the police have combed the city and suburbs and have broadcast a full description of him to the country and other States, nothing has been heard of Peter James Marten, the wealthy youth who vanished so mysteriously a fortnight ago. His mother, who had been in New Zealand, returns to Sydney to direct the 6earch. Besides owning considerable property in his own right, Marten had a substantial banking account. It has not been operated on since his disappearance. On Friday, December 10, he left the office of G. S. Yuill and Co., where he was employed, and nothing has been heard of him since. With the exception of the clothes he stood up in, all his personal property, including his bank book, was found intact in his Darlinghurst flat." The police regard the case as a most mysterious one. Marten, it is stated, had no worries, and was always bright and cheerful. It is hardly likely that he left Sydney willingly. He had only a few shillings on him. His description is: About 6ft 2in in height, medium build, fair hair and complexion, blue eyes; dressed in brown tweed suit, no vest, grey felt hat and tan shoes.
