The Dispatch states that extraordinary scenes marked police attempts in Paris to arrest Maurice Rambourd, a dangerous character, who barricaded himself in his lodgings after shooting an inoffensive costermonger. The police demanded him to surrender, whereat Rambourd partially opened the door and fired twice, and then reclosed the door. The police decided to use gas and the street was barricaded. A huge crowd watched the proceedings. As the first wave reached him Ramlxmrd shot himself dead.—A. and N.Z. cable.
