SEVERE SHAKE.
HEAVIEST FOR SEVERAL YEARS. The most severe earthquake that has been experienced locally for _ several years past occurred at 11.20 this morning. The direction was from west to east. No damage has been reported. The vibration was preceded by a loud rumble.
