LABOUR CONFERENCE.
OFFENCES ON SHIPS. REFERRED TO COMMITTEE. GENEVA, June 24. Tho Labour Conference will end on Thursday. Mr Beasley has been the most active leading international of tho workers’ group. As chairman, Mr Beasley urged that delegates had assembled for the purpose of internationalising the laws of various countries. For this reason the workers’ group would voto against the proposal to leave, the decisions regarding offences on ships to nationallaws. ■ A resolution submitted with the object of obtaining better overseas representation on various commissions was lost by a few votes, but it is understood that tho matter will be pressed again on Thursday. The final vote of the convention regarding penalties for crimes of seamen failed to obtain the requisite twothirds majority, and was sent back to tho drafting committee for almendment. —Reuter.
