Tho demise of the Moa Seed Farm as a going concern was recently announced to the great regret not only of Otago men who put money into it, but also gardeners of all grades and many others who wish to see local industries prosper (says a Dunedin correspondent). Tlie promoters have had to abandon this worthy but ill-starred venture, and its burial is now inmiiment. A valuation of stock and plant is to made this week, and tho assets will probably be sold by auction next week on behalf of the Government. It is understood, however, that the services of Mr J. AA 7 . Hr.dfield (manager) are not to bo lost to New Zealand. -If rumour can be relied on, Mr Hadfield is likely to accept an appointment in the Agricultural Department and yemain in Otago.
