ALLEGED BRIBERY.

MONEY GIVEN TO POLICE. ADELAIDE, June 16. During the sitting to-day—the seventeenth—of the Royal Commission investigating the allegations against certain police officials of accepting' bribes, a witness, Peter Johnson, informed Mr A. S. Blackburn (assisting tile Commission) that he had paid sums to a uniformed constable whose name he did not know. He made ( himselt a nuisance until witness didi so. Mr Blackburn: Did he then fade away ? Witness: Oh, no! Sometimes he used to hang around and “keep nit” for me, to keep other Johns away. (Laughter).
