PLUNGE OVER BANK.
POAVER BOARD’S MOTOR LURRY
ACCIDENT ON DAVIS HILL. * [From Our Own Correspondent.] FEILDING, June 25. Yesterday afternoon a heavy motor lorry, belonging to tho Fcilding branch of the Manawatu-Oroua Power Board, and driven by Mr H. Butler, an employee of the board, left the road at tho foot of Davis Hill,. Waituna, and went over tho bank into a gully taking with, it a telegraph pole and wires in its descent. Mr Butler escaped injury. The damage to the lorry, which, very fortunately, camo to rest on all four wheels, is not at present ascertainable. It will require considerable effort alone to get the vehicle back on to tho road.' -Tho hill where the accident took place is a very bad one and is generally avoided, if possible, by motorists. The road has recently been graded and the lorry getting into a water table, tho front wheels locked, causing the accident.
