[By Telegraph.—Special to Standard.] AUCKLAND, Juno 25. “Why did tho parties separate?” asked Mr Justice Herdman of counsel in a petition for an increase of alimony which came before him in the Supreme Court at Hamilton. Mr Allen (for respondent): According to my. instructions the lady has a tongue. Mr Strang (.for petitioner): She would hardly bo a woman without one. (Laughter). . His Honour: Quite a common failing, I am afraid.” His Honour, in making an order for an increase remarked later that the parties might marry again if the woman managed to keep silent.
