TOKOMARU.
[From Our Own Correspondent.] At the footballers’ euchre and dance held on Thursday of last week the winner of the first prize in tho euchre was Mrs Close. Mesdames Rizzi, Bell, Hewitson, Todd and Osman “cut” for the consolation prize, Mrs Osman being: tho winner. In the men’s section the first prize was won by Mr Pratt, of Miranui. Mr Wells winning- the consolation. Mr J. Schwass acted in the capacity of M.C., and Mr 11. Parr presided at the piano. Mr Forsyth of Koputaroa, has been appointed headmaster of the Tokomaru School, and will take up his duties shortly. A meeting of St. Aidan’s Ladies’ Guild has been arranged for Wednesday next. On Thursday Mr and Mrs J. Schwass gave a social evening, the' , oceasion being tho birthday of Mr Schwass. The guests were entertained with music and cards, a sumptuous repast being partaken of later in the evening, and tho health of Mr and Mrs Schwass toasted with musical honours. Tho Tokomaru football team having disbanded, L. Simpson and L. Rowlands hq.ve applied for a transfer to tho Miranui Club.
