ABOLITION OPPOSED. MELBOURNE, June 23. The Premiers’ conference carried a resolution that the States do not assent to any financial scheme proposed by. the Federal Government that does not provide for their receiving a fixed annual payment of not less than 25s per head of population, and that there should be no departure from the basis upon which the financial relations of the Commonwealth and States rest without the fullest consideration at a constitutional session and the approval of the peoplo at a rcferendeum. —Press Association.
