365 FINE DAYS IN THE YEAR. LONDON, June 15. The Evening News gives prominence to an interview with Lord Stradbroke; who spoke appreciatively of Australia 365 fine days in the year,of Melbourne’s prosperity and of the development along the Murray River, where the desert is blossoming like a rose. He added that there are plentiful opportunities for English women - able to do domestic work, with marriage prospects such as many are unlikely to get in England. Lady Stradbrokc praised the Melbourne girls’ taste in dress, especially the high discrimination of the shop and factory girls. She continued:. “The Australians do not worship money like the Americans. Money is the servant of the Australians, who know how to enjoy their prosperity wisely.”
