EX-EMPEROR’S FUNERAL. ~TOKIO, Juno 10. At 4 p.m. to-day commenced at Seoul one of the greatest and most picturesque funerals the world has ever seen, when the mammoth catafalque of the former Emperor of Korea, Yi Wang, left the palace, borne in relays by 2000 men to the tomb on the mountainside eight miles away. Twenty thousand troops, 25,000 students, 2000 priests, 3000 musicians, and at least 50,000 of the Korean public took part in the march, while 4000 police and many troops lined the route ready to act at the first sign of trouble, to prevent which the authorities took the greatest precautions. The funeral was celebrated with full Korean rites, the authorities even permitting the display of the old Korean flag during the ceremonies.
