PICKED UP AT SEA.
RESCUER RESCUED. WOMAN’S LONG FLOAT. NEW YORK, June 12. Two amazing rescues have been effected in the Atlantic. Yesterday Eva Bohman, while surfing at Miami Beach, Florida, was observed to go to the assistance of a struggling man. She disappeared, but to-day a steamer 40 miles, away picked her up. She explained* that she was seized with cramps when near the drowning man and, seeing him rescued, allowed herself to float until she was too far from the shore to return. She remained floating until rescued. Two fishermen from the schooner Slyvania disappeared five days ago. They were picked up by a passing steamer and brought into St. John’s, Newfoundland.
