LADIES’ REPRESENTATIVE TEAM. CURTAIN-RAISER TO INDIAN ARMY MATCH. The selectors have chosen the following ladies to represent Manawatu against Ruahino as a curtain-raiser to tho Indian Army match on June 30th. All players must be at the Showgrounds at 1 p.m. on that date:— Goal, M. Raiisom (Bunnytliorpe) ; backs, R. Snell (Nireaha) and 51. Richardson (Ohakea) : halves, M. Scott (W.E.0.G.), M. The Indian Army hockey team played South Canterbury at Temuka to-day on a good ground in the presence of a large attendance. The visitors excelled in all departments of the game and won by 7.4 goals to two. nine of tho goals being scored bv Dliian Chand, who was playing centre-forward.

The secretary of the New Zealand Hockey Association has received a telegram from Wellington stating that E. McLeod, one of the men chosen to represent New Zealand against the Indian Army side at Christchurch on Saturday in the first test match, will not be able to play owing to injuries.
