FOOTBALL CLUB MEETING.

A committeo meeting of the Foxton Football Club was held on Monday night, being presided over bv Mr id. liutchins. Before general business was discussed the president, welcomed Mesdames Procter, fioasmun and Stevenson, who had. signified their willingness to supervise a shop day to raise funds for the erection of a dressing room on tho racecourse. After a general discussion it was decided to hold a “shop day” on July 3 and several gifts for competitions were promised. It was decided to hold a social in the Masonic Hall on Monday next at which all club players and their lady friends arc to bo entertained by ,the committee. Mesdames Procter, Heasman and Stevenson wero thanked for their attendance and kind offers of assistance. *

Regarding insurance claims of players it was decided to tako no further action and tho union’s insurance scheme was adversely criticised.

The union notified that Weraroa had withdrawn from the fourth grade competition.

It was decided to apply to the Racing Club for a percentage of football gate receipts for last year and to apply tho money to ground improvements. Tho secretary reported a credit, balance of £6 10s lOd and stated that a number of subscriptions were still to come in.

Tho matter of abandoning tho senior match with Southern County, to be played on Saturday, at Paraparaumu, was left in tho hands of the president and Mr Procter. It was pointed out that the expense of travelling such a distance and loss of time was an obstacle to most senior players. Several other minor matters were discussed and the meeting rose.
