FEILDING NEWS
VALEDICTORY. [From Our Own Correspondent.] On Monday night the office bearers of St. Paul’s Church ' assembled in the manse to bid farewell to Mr R. H. Smale, who is leaving Feilding, and to wish bon voyage to Mr G. Bartholomew, who is' leaving on a trip to America. Rev. Thos. Miller, Mr S. D. Pearce, Mr T. Page, Mr T. Watson, Mr J. McFarland and the Rev. D. Martin, 8.A., all spoke of the good services rendered by their fellow officebearers. As a member, elder, choir leader and a Sunday school superintendent, Mr Bartholomew has, since 1879, in spite of the heavy responsibility of managing a large private business, rendered valued service to the congregation. Mr Smale has also been of yeoman service to the church over a long period of years, and he carries the best wishes of his fellow workers. It is possible that Mr Smalo may reside near Feilding. The singing of an appropriate hymn and a prayer by Rev. Miller was followed by supper served by Mrs Miller, which brought the fraternal gathering to a close. OROUA SUB-UNION.
