POULTRY KEEPERS.

REQUEST TO MINISTER. IN EVENT OF WHEAT SHORTAGE. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, June 22. A deputation of poultrymen waited on the Minister of Agriculture to-day to ask that, if there was a shortage of wheat in the Dominion, the duty on imported stocks should be adjusted in their favour.

The Minister declined to give any undertaking of this kind at the moment, saying that he preferred to wait and see what the crop actually amounted to before taking any action. He promised to investigate a complaint about the quality of Dollard, the allegation being that wTieat-lnisks were being put into pollard.
