THE CEMETERY.

(To the Editor.) Sxr,—l had occasion to visit your cemetery recently and found that the grounds, paths, etc., are very nicoiy kept, but on ascending the terrace near the railway line I noticed that there are some very nice headstones on some of the graves which are suffering unduly from dampness caused by the belt of trees towering over them, obscuring the sun and making the graves and atmosphere damp and gloomy. It setins to. my mind very regrettable that valuable tablets of identification should be allowed to become discoloured and covered with moss when the position cruld quite easily be overcome by the trees being cut down /Thanking you for your valuable space.—l am, etc., “INTERESTED.” Rongotea, June 21, 1926.
