At the Council of Education to-day Dr Marsden, assistant-Director of Education, said it would probably take seven or eight years to change over to the junior high school system, but during the interregnum much might be done to formulate a definite scheme of unification. A stnrt had been made by reorganising the secondary school examinations so as to provide for gradually broadening the change. Tho council went into committee to discuss the tentative proposals.
