EXCITEMENT IN NOTTINGHAM,
(By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received June 11, 12.30 p.m. LONDON, June 10. Australia’s test team will not be selected until the morning of the match. Gregory is certain to play, notwithstanding rumours to the contrary owing to an injury to a leg which is insufficient in itself to preclude his appearance. Ponsford will definitely be an absentee. . . The weather appears likely to join England’s side. Extraordinarily heavy rain during the past 24 hours has interfered with cricket all over the country, while the forecast for' Saturday indicates showers. , The whole of Nottingham is agog with .excitement. The , entire .accommodation is booked up in- the -city as well as in the neighbouring towns. _ Though the Australians are resting on the day before the test, many Englishmen are playing in various centres. The majority are not perturbed, regarding a day’s rest as unnecessary and tho view is expressed that a break often leads to slackness. —A. and N.Z. cable.
