THIEVES BUSY.
EMPTY WALLETS RETURNED. LONDON, May . 25. Air Antflony A. Lucas, a Alelbourne business man, was emerging from the La Scala Opera House in Alilan, when pickpockets stole his wallet, containing money and letters of introduction. The British Consul at Alilan lent some money and showed him scores of unclaimed wallets belonging to British and Australian visitors which had been placed in pillar-boxes after the money had been .extracted. The Consul remarked: “Yours will be returned likewise.” When Air Lucas visited his bank in London he received the missing papers, which had been forwarded by the Consul at Alilan.
