LEAGUE OF NATIONS.
POSITION OF SPAIN
WITHDRAWAL PROBABLE,
MADRID, June 9. “If her position is not recognised, Spain will cease membership of the League, but hopefully trusts that the great Powers will admit her among their full equity,” declared _ General Primo de Rivera, in an interview with the British United Press.—A. and N.Z. cable.
The Geneva correspondent of the London Daily Express reported that there were widespread fears that Spain would follow Brazil in withdrawing from the League. The fears were based on the Marquis Quinones de Leon’s absence from the present meeting of the council; also on the fact that the Spanish disarmament representative had gone to Madrid for instructions.
