FRENCH CABINET.
UNANIMITY RESTORED.
PARIS, June 10. M. Briand has succeeded in modifying the views of those Cabinet members who favour a National Government. M. Peret, the Minister of Finance, yielded, but he declared that lie would wield the economy axe unmercifully. He believed that future political developments would depend solely on the fortunes of the franc.—A. and N.Z. cable.
It was cabled yesterday that there would be a meeting of the French Cabinet, whereat M. Peret, Minister of Finance, would urge that only a Cabinet of national union was equal to the financial emergency, failing which he intended to resign. There were persistent rumours of the imminent fall of the Ministry or a reconstruction.
