NEW MINISTER.
REPORT NOT CONFIRMED. No official confirmation could be obtained yesterday of the statement from Gisborne that Mr Iv. S. Williams, member tor Bay of Plenty, has been offered and had accepted tbo portfolio of Minister of Public Works. The Prime Minister, when approached, said he had no statement to make, and a similar reply was received from Mr Williams, who expressed surprise when told the contents of the message.
