RIFLES FOR RUSIA.
ENCOURAGING MILITARISM. RIGA, June 8. The Soviet has contracted with a German firm for the supply of unlimited quantities of small-calibre rifles for 30 roubles each, to facilitate private rifle practice throughout Russia. The newspaper Izvestia declares that it is intended to encourage rifle clubs even more than hitherto, as it is the surest method of militarising the Soviet Union’s population. —Times.
