BOOKSELLER’S FAILURE.

In the personal statement furnished to the D.O.A. (Mr C. E. Denipsy) by Albert Evelyn Wood, bookseller, _ ot Palmerston North, bankrupt mentions •that be started business in Palmerston North in May, 1923, having no liabilities. A married mail with two ot a family, lie had carried on business in Mam street as a bookseller and stationer and had sold books and magazines on the trains. Possessing £9O capital at commencement, lie had done well until about April, 1924, when, on account of domestic trouble and subsequent divorce proceedings, he had lost about £350. As a result of such proceedings and, owing to the broken time which had been necessitated, his turnover had dropped and lie had been going back steadily ever since. He had no money and could not make any offer to his creditors. He had met tho latter in Wellington and they had instructed him to file.
