RONGOTEA.

WEDDING. (From Our Own Correspondent.) A very pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Simon and St. Judo’s Church, Ilongotea, on Wednesday afternoon, the contracting parties being Elsie Evelyn, second daughter of Mrs 11. Fox, of “Ethelhurst,” Rongotea, and John, only son of Mr and Mrs R. Dafter, also of Rongoteji. Rev. W. S. Tremaine was the officiating clergyman. The bride, who entered the church on tho arm of her brother, Mr J. Fox, wore a gown ot white crcpe-de-chine with overdress of radium lace, and the orthodox veil and orange blossoms. She carried a beautiful shower bouquet. The bride wus attended by her sister, Miss Winnie Fox, as bridesmaid, and she was attired in cinnamon shaded satin, trimmed with lace, and caught up at tho side with brilliants and hat of black net with osprey. She carried an autumn tinted bouquet with streamers to tone. The flower girls were Miss Kathleen Fox, nieco of the bride, and Miss Lila Cunninghame, cousin of tho bride, und both wero attired in crocheted apricot silk dresses and carried small posies of roses. Master Howard Burgess, nephew of the bridegroom, was page boy. Tho duties of best man were carried out by Mr Charles Cowan. Following tho ceremony a reception was held in the supper-room of the Masonic Hall when some 50 guests, including a number of visitors, wero entertained. The happy couple left by car for tho north, the bride travelling in a frock of brown embossed velvet, with hat and coat to match. TENNIS MATCH. A friendly tennis match was played between a team from Carnarvon and a team from tho local courts on Wednesday afternoon. Owing to the darkness several of the sets wero unfinished. At the end of the day’s piay, Carnarvon held the load by lli sets and 96 games to sets and 88 games. Detailed results, Carnarvon players mentioned first, wero as follow: — Ladies’ singles.—Mis-i*R.
