ENGLAND’S TENNIS HOPE,
AUSTIN’S PARTNERS
LONDON, March 29. Austin, regarded as England’s tennis hope, is to partner his brother-in-law, R. Lyeett, the ex-Australian, at Wimbledon, while Miss Betty Nuthall will be with him in the mixed doubles. Austin, a tall, slimly-built boy of 19, of whom all England is talking, is at present at Cambridge University concentrating on tennis, although he is a fine cricketer and a passable golfer. His sister Joan says : “Father, who is an old Wimbledonite, taught us stroke by stroke, and we spent the wet days banging the ball against the nursery wall.”
