GRAVE SITUATION
TROUBLE NEAR CALCUTTA. ALLEGED ASSAULT BY EUROPEAN. STRIKE OF MILL OPERATIVES. (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received April 8, 10.5 a.m. DELHI, April 7. A serious situation has arisen at Gouripore, 25 miles from Calcutta, whore several thousand mill operatives struck in tho afternoon following a reported fatal assault on a coolie by a European. Tho situation is considered extremely grave. Assaults are being committed on Europeans, four of whom were injured. Armed police have been summoned. —Renter.
