ENGINE DERAILED.
IN LONGBURN YARD
While engaged in shunting operations at the Longburn station yard last evening, the engine of the goods train which left Palmerston North for Wellington at 7 p.m. went off the track through a broken rail. No through traffic was affected, as the de- -A fective rail was on a cattle yard siding and, after half an hour’s delay, the t engine was replaced on the metals and the train proceeded on its journey.
