AT ADELAIDE HOTEL MYSTERIOUS OCCURRENCE. ADELAIDE, March 22. Tho Adelaide police aro busy probing tho mysterious death of a woman of 28 in a room at the Grosvonor Hotel on Saturday afternoon. Following mysterious ’phono messages and the discovery of the body locked in the room, they are holding a woman for further inquiry. Daisy Lillian Koats, aged 28, of Riverton came to Adelaide apparently to see tho pantomimo “Aladdin” on Saturday afternoon, and booked a room at the Grosvenor. Her 20-year-old sister came to town with her, but stayed with friends at St. Peters 1 . Late in tho afternoon a mysterious telephone message was received at tho house of Dr. C. V. Wells, of South Terrace, asking him to attend a woman at room 319, Grosvenor Hotel. When he arrived at the, Grosvonor he found tlie room locked. The door was forced open and the dead body was found with bloodstains on the clothing and on towels. Tho police sealed the room, sent for the girl’s relatives, and began investigations. It was late on Sunday night that they detained a woman living at Hackney. SECOND ’PHONE CALL. When Dr. Wells returned home after visiting the Grosvenor on Saturday evening he received a further mysterious ’phone message from a woman, who gave the name of McDonald, and asked how things were in room 319. The doctor replied that ho could tell hor nothing, and she rang off. YOUNG WOMAN ARRESTED. Alice Kerr, a young woman, was charged in the Adelaide Police Court to-day with the murder of Daisy Lilian Keats, at the Grosvenor, oil Saturday. She was remanded. Accused, who was neatly dressed, and wore an engagement ring, was first charged with having feloniously used an instrument on Keats, but on the Bench remanding her and granting bail, she was ro-arrested and charged with murder. Her mother and fiance were in court.
