SIR JAMES ALLEN’S PLANS.
FAREWELL IN LONDON IN JULY.
LONDON, Feb. 24. Tho committee which is organising the annual New Zealand dinner which is to take place on June 8 is also arranging for a farewell reception to Sir James and Lady Allen. This will take place some time in July at the Wharnecliffe rooms, which have been used on previous occasions for New Zealand receptions, and have proved particularly convenient and commodious. Ihe great hall will be used for dancing. The committee will be strengthened by the inclusion of a number of New Zealand When Sir James Allen is eventually relieved of his position as High Commissioner it is liis intention to return to Now Zealand by way of Japan. This is a part of the world he has always wanted to visit. He will cross Canada and then go on to Japan, spending some time at the various places of interest. He will then see Hongkong, Manila, Singapore and the Islands. At present he has pencilled his passage for the end of August, but this may have to be cancelled if the Government should desire him to remain in London until after tho Imperial Conference. Miss Rona Allen may accompany Sir James to New Zealand, but the rest of the family will remain in London for at any rate some months.
