MATCH AT INVERCARGILL. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, April 3. The Easter Rugby match between Star (Invercargill) and Zingari (Dunedin) was drawn, both sides scoring 14 points. SEVEN-A-SIDE TOURNAMENT. HAWERA, April 3. Over 20 teams participated in the annual seven-a-side Rugby tournament at Kaponga to-day lor tho Casey Shield. Most of the Taranaki clubs were represented and also teams from Rata and Napier. The All Black, Cooke, was prominent throughout the tourney. The final was played between Napier Star and New Plymouth, the former winning by 13 points to 3. MEETING OF REFEREES. DUNEDIN, April 3. Rugby referees from all parts of the Dominion met in conference yesterday. Mr D. McKenzie (Wellington) presided. Rulings were given on a number of specifio cases quoted by several associations. The most outstanding of these were that the advantage rule applies in the case of a throw-in from touch; that the signal to indicate that no goal has been kicked be deleted; and that in all kicks at goal the referee shall consult his touch judges only when in doubt. Regarding tho appointment of referees, it was decided that it be a recommendation to the various Rugby Unions that in the appointments for inter-provincial matches these be made by the Appointment Board in the district where the matches are played. Further, that the appointment of referees for ordinary championship matches should bo by an appointment committee consisting of referees wholly. It was decided to hold the next conference in the Wairarapa district, either at Master ton or Carterton.
Mr D. McKenzie (Wellington) was re-elected president.
